Syracuse football recruiting: 2016 athlete Sean Riley flips from Arizona to Syracuse

Class of 2016 athlete Sean Riley has flipped his commitment from Arizona to Syracuse, he announced in a tweet Sunday afternoon. He is the second player commit in as many days and is the 13th member of the Orange’s 2016 class.

Since Dino Babers was hired as the Orange’s head coach, four of SU’s six commitments have been flips.

The 5-foot-9, 165-pound Narbonne (California) High School product is ranked with three stars and as the 22nd best all-purpose back in the 2016 class, according to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings. At Narbonne, Riley was a threat both to catch passes and run the ball.

Riley took an official visit to SU this weekend and chose to flip after being committed to Arizona since last March. He also held offers from Utah, Wyoming and San Diego State, per 247Sports. Riley joins athlete Moe Neal and quarterback Rex Culpepper as the only offensive skill position players committed to Syracuse’s 2016 class. Wide receiver Sadiq Palmer’s offer was pulled due to academic issues in December.

Riley also visited Syracuse with Narbonne teammates Cedric Byrd, who is uncommitted, and Devaughn Cooper, who is committed to Arizona.
