Make the most of your Homecoming Weekend with these events on and off campus

First Fridays at the Everson

The Everson Museum of Art will stay open until 9 p.m. on the first Friday of each month. At the events, there will be beer-tasting hosted by the Empire Brewing Co. and a BYOR — Bring Your Own Record — night.

When: Friday from 5-9 p.m.

Where: Everson Museum of Art

Cost: $5 for members and $10 for non-members

“Crazy For You” preview

Syracuse University’s Department of Drama will preview its 2017-18 season with “Crazy for You,” a Tony Award-winning play that has been performed more than 1,600 times on Broadway.



When: Friday at 8 p.m.

Where: Syracuse Stage/Department of Drama Complex

Cost: $17-$19

2017 Homecoming Tailgate

Come enjoy food and adult beverages at the official 2017 Homecoming tailgate before the Orange take on the University of Pittsburgh at the Carrier Dome. The event is hosted by Orange: 44 Tailgate.

When: Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Where: 961 Harrison St.

Cost: Free

Liverpool BrewFest

Shakey’s Bar and Grill will host the first Liverpool BrewFest. The event will feature the best of central New York breweries and wineries.

When: Saturday from 2-6 p.m.

Where: Shakey’s Bar and Grill, 7240 Oswego Road, Liverpool

Cost: $45 to $65

Salsa Dancing Night Fundraiser

The SUNY-ESF support and relief community Acorns to Action will host a salsa dancing benefit to raise money for natural disaster victims in Mexico, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. There will be salsa dancing lessons, free dance, basket raffles and free food.

When: Saturday from 6-8 p.m.

Where: 1 Forestry Drive

Cost: Donate what you wish

T.J. MILLER & The Lucas Brothers

Comedians T.J. MILLER & The Lucas Brothers will perform in Schine Student Center as a part of University Union’s comedy series. You may know Miller from the HBO sitcom “Silicon Valley” and the blockbuster “Deadpool.” Tickets for the event are available at the Schine Box Office and online. Doors open at 7:15 p.m.

When: Saturday at 8 p.m.

Where: Goldstein Auditorium

Cost: $5 with a valid SU/SUNY-ESF ID, $15 for faculty/SU staff, $20 for general public

Crywolf at The Westcott Theater

Producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Justin Taylor Phillips, whose stage name is Crywolf, will perform at The Westcott Theater with DJ group Colors and hip-hop artist Ezdee.

When: Saturday from 8-11:59 p.m.

Where: The Westcott Theater

Cost: $12

LaFayette Apple Festival

Experience apple picking, a classic New York tradition, at the LaFayette Apple Festival this weekend. There will be an apple pie baking contest, in addition to a scarecrow contest, and attendees can also check out the cider mill.

When: Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: 5330 Rowland Road, LaFayette
