An Evening With Lotus

Lotus is best known for its mix of funk, rock, jazz and electronic tunes. The group has performed at festivals and theaters across the country and is performing two shows in Syracuse this weekend. VIP ticket holders receive tickets for both nights, a soundcheck party, meet-and-greet and a signed poster.
When: Thursday and Friday at 9 p.m.
Where: The Westcott Theater, 524 Westcott St.
Cost: $25 general admission, $125 VIP 2-day pass

“Proud Mary” screening

University Union is screening “Proud Mary,” a movie about a hit woman working for an organized crime family in Boston, on Friday. When a professional hit goes awry, the life of the main character, Mary, played by Taraji Henson, changes forever.
When: Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m.
Where: HBC Gifford Auditorium

Rachel Beverly concert

Cortland-based Rachel Beverly is bringing her pop-folk music and original songs to Syracuse this weekend. Beverly released her first EP in 2016 and since then has continued to perform at local venues. She will be accompanied by Ben Cunningham, a solo acoustic artist and lead singer of Northwoods Wendigo.
When: Friday at 6 p.m., doors open at 5 p.m.

“The Snow Queen” musical

Winter may be ending in Syracuse, but “The Snow Queen” is coming to town. The musical adventure, which inspired “Frozen,” centers around Gerda, who goes on a mission to save her best friend, Kai, from the Snow Queen’s Palace. Presented by Redhouse and ARC of Onondaga, the music in the performance draws inspiration from pop-rock, ballad and steampunk music. Opening night on Friday is already sold out.
When: April 6, 7, 13 and 14 at 8 p.m., April 15 at 2 p.m.
Where: Redhouse at City Center Small Theater, 400 S Salina St.

Orange After Dark: Paint Night

Create your own masterpiece at paint night. A canvas, paints, brushes and a smock will be provided. Refreshments will also be served.
When: Friday at 10 p.m., doors open at 9:30 p.m.
Where: Regency Ballroom, Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel and Conference Center

Syracuse Monster Jam

The world-famous monster truck event is returning to the Carrier Dome. More than a dozen competitors, including trucks such as Grave Digger and Max-D, will be vying to be the champion. The event consists of both a show and a party.
When: Saturday
Show: 7 p.m.
Pit Party: 2:30-5:30 p.m.
Where: Carrier Dome

A cappella concert

Take a ride in the time machine with Otto Tunes’ spring invitational: “Back OT The Future.” The a cappella group will perform a blast from the past, singing songs from several decades.
When: Saturday at 7 p.m.

6-Legged 5K

Bring your four-legged friend for Fleet Feet Sports’ annual 5K. Runners and walkers are invited to participate in the untimed race at Onondaga Lake Park with their pet. All proceeds will benefit local animal charities.
When: Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
Where: Fleet Feet Sports, 5800 Bridge St.
Cost: $20 registration fee
