#NotAgainSU is encouraging students and faculty members to strike from in-person learning, the organization posted Sunday on Instagram.

The organization’s strike would remain in place until Syracuse University formally allows students and faculty to have the option of online learning for their classes.

The post called for students to refuse to attend any in-person class and request that their professors approve a virtual option, while faculty members are encouraged to not hold in-person classes until their demand is met.

#NotAgainSU’s Instagram bio now also contains a link to a petition regarding their demands, Google forms to place your signature and an email template to send to university officials.

“I support the demand to approve the option for every student and teacher to participate in online learning if they wish,” the email template says. “This is a necessary decision to protect our communities from COVID-19.”

While SU only has 22 active COVID-19 cases on campus, its campus masking requirement is at “red level,” meaning that all students, faculty, staff and visitors — both vaccinated and unvaccinated — must wear masks indoors at all times and outside in the presence of others.
