Six current and former Syracuse men’s lacrosse players have been selected to the Haudenosaunee Confederacy roster for the World Lacrosse Box Championships. Cody Jamieson, Randy Staats, Brendan Bomberry, Warren Hill, Jeremy Thompson and current SU attack Trey Deere were selected to the 23-man roster.

The tournament will be held in Utica, New York, from Sep. 20-29. Earlier this month, Joey Spallina was named to team USA’s roster alongside former SU long pole Joel White.

Jamieson was key in helping Syracuse win its 10th National Championship in 2009. He was named to the All-NCAA Tournament team with eight goals and three assists as SU took down Cornell in the national title game.

Staats played for the Orange from 2014-15, following two seasons at Onondaga Community College. He recorded 109 points in 27 games. Bomberry transferred to Syracuse in 2017 after two seasons with Denver. He scored 56 goals across 31 games while recording a 47.9% shot accuracy with SU.

Thompson, the older brother of lacrosse legends Lyle and Miles Thompson, played with SU starting in 2010. He registered 53 points while also being a successful faceoff man. Thompson went 139-for-257 (54.1%) during his time at the faceoff X.

Deere is the lone current Syracuse player on the Haudenosaunee’s team. The lefty attack appeared in just five games as a freshman, scoring two goals.
