Syracuse women’s lacrosse was ranked No. 10 in the Inside Lacrosse Week 4 Poll released Monday. The Orange dropped five spots following a 12-8 loss to No. 3 Northwestern and a 9-8 defeat to then-No. 12 Clemson. The No. 10 ranking is Syracuse’s lowest under fourth-year head coach Kayla Treanor and the worst mark since Week 1 of 2019.

SU entered the week at 3-1 after a loss to No. 2 North Carolina. The Orange then rattled off two more losses this week, dropping three straight for the first time since 2018. With Olivia Adamson being ruled out for the season with a lower-body injury, Syracuse has scored just eight goals in each of its last three games.

Against the Wildcats, Syracuse fell behind 5-0 with little offensive momentum. SU battled back but couldn’t outlast the heroics of Madison Taylor’s five second-half goals. Four days later, against Clemson, the Orange were stagnant once again.

Syracuse turned the ball over 16 times overall and couldn’t recover from a 5-3 halftime deficit, falling by one despite winning the second half. The back-to-back losses in the JMA Wireless Dome mark the first two-game losing streak in the building since 2004.

In the Inside Lacrosse Poll, the Orange were surpassed by Michigan, Stanford, Clemson, Johns Hopkins and Maryland while being tied with Florida for No. 10. SU next faces No. 6 Stanford, followed by No. 8 Johns Hopkins.
