SU’s College of Arts and Sciences names associate dean of diversity

Ducre has taught at Syracuse University for 13 years, according to her LinkedIn page.

Syracuse University’s College of Arts and Sciences has appointed its first associate dean of diversity, equity and inclusion, according to a Wednesday SU News release.

Kishi Ducre, an associate professor of African American Studies, will advocate for underrepresented students, faculty and staff, per the release. She will serve as part of Arts and Sciences Dean Karin Ruhlandt’s senior-management team.

Ducre is a published author specializing in environmental sociology and justice, and has worked at SU for 13 years, according to her LinkedIn page. She directed the Center for Social Justice and Civil Liberties at Riverside City College in Los Angeles earlier this year, per the release.

She holds a doctorate in environmental justice from the University of Michigan, and has received a grant from the Ford Foundation to study gender and environmental justice in central New York, per the release.
